Common use of Independent Assignment Clause in Contracts

Independent Assignment. No assignment of this Agreement or of commissions or other payments under this Agreement shall be valid without prior written consent of AIG Life. Furthermore, except as provided below, this Agreement and any rights pursuant hereto shall be assignable only upon the written consent of all of the parties hereto. Except as and to the extent specifically provided in this Agreement, nothing in this Agreement, expressed or implied, is intended to confer on any person other than the parties hereto, or their respective legal successors, any rights, remedies, obligations, or liabilities, or to relieve any person other than the parties hereto or their respective legal successors, from any obligations or liabilities that would otherwise be applicable.
