The "IMPROVEMENT NEEDED" clause typically establishes a process for identifying and addressing deficiencies or substandard performance in a party's work or deliverables under a contract. In practice, this clause may require the responsible party to correct issues within a specified timeframe after receiving notice, and may outline steps for monitoring progress or consequences for failing to make improvements. Its core function is to ensure that contractual standards are met by providing a structured mechanism for remediation, thereby protecting the interests of the party receiving the goods or services.
IMPROVEMENT NEEDED. There are some weaknesses evident in meeting all of the critical indicators necessary to meet District standards.
IMPROVEMENT NEEDED. In the event that an Observation and/or Evaluation Report indicates that the certificated employee needs improvement in one or more areas as defined in the evaluation criteria, the supervisor may meet with the certificated employee to develop a mutually agreeable program designed to improve the certificated employee’s competency in the deficient areas. Failing to reach a mutually agreeable program, the supervisor may prepare a specific and reasonable program and deliver such program to the certificated employee. In no event shall the mutually agreed upon or supervisor’s own program for improvement require the certificated employee to:
a. Satisfy performance criteria other than those listed under Evaluation Criteria,
b. Tape record or video tape any lesson conducted by the employee,
c. Request non-supervisory personnel in the bargaining unit to observe and/or evaluate the employee,
d. Purchase any publication, supplies or equipment,
e. Involve student participation different from the normal classroom role,
f. Be monitored or evaluated by use of any electronic device or,
g. Enroll in any class, program or activity not recognized for credit for salary schedule placement and/or require employee expenditures for tuition, books, and/or materials.

IMPROVEMENT NEEDED. Performance is frequently less than expected of a competent employee for the position. Performance indicates some deficiency in basic skill, knowledge or application. Specific efforts to improve desired. Performance indicates competent and effective adherence to expected standards. Performance indicates fully acceptable demonstration of knowledge and skills. Performance consistently above standards for position. Performance indicates superior knowledge and application of skills. Exceptional performance. Application of knowledge, skills and results are consistently well beyond the expected standard for position.
IMPROVEMENT NEEDED. A temporary level for a probationary employee or others whose performance is below the acceptable level. Improvement is urgently needed and will require increased effort. Employee with this type of performance should be considered for special training, reassignment or possible removal of job.
IMPROVEMENT NEEDED. The employee does not always meet the responsibilities and objectives of the job. Demonstrates some of the job requisite skills, abilities, and knowledge to do the job, but additional training and/or commitment required. Individual may still be learning the job and/or willingness to develop or improve requisite skills and knowledge may be in question. 1 = Unsatisfactory Job Performance - Responsibilities of the position have not been met.
