IAFF. When position WV98 (working title Assistant Fire Chief) becomes vacant, Fire Captains who apply will be interviewed for the opening. Each Fire Captain interviewed, but not appointed, shall be notified in writing of the reasons why they were not appointed.
IAFF. Overtime eligible employees who work twenty-four (24) hour shifts will bid annually for shifts. Bidding order shall be based on seniority. Bidding shall be complete by November 15 of each year and the awarded bid shifts schedule shall start on January 1 of the following year. Bids will be submitted to the Fire Chief and upon receipt will be dated with a copy returned to the employee and the original maintained on file in the Fire Chief’s Office.

IAFF. Except in emergency situations, no employee of the ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Island Fire Department will work more than sixteen (16) hours in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour period.
IAFF. 5082 shall be notified as soon as possible when an employee is hired into a position covered by this collective negotiations agreement. Representation fee deductions shall begin on or after the 30th day following the beginning of an employee's employment in the negotiations unit.
IAFF. Work schedules will normally consist of eighty (80) hours in a fourteen (14) day work period. Because of the unique nature of their work and work location, employees work a non standard schedule, but one which meets the Fair Labor Standards Act and State Law. The current schedule configurations will be deemed to conform to this Section.
