A Hospital Allowance clause defines a fixed daily or per-visit payment made to an insured individual when they are admitted to a hospital. This payment is typically provided regardless of the actual medical expenses incurred and is often used to help cover incidental costs such as transportation, meals, or lost income during hospitalization. Hospital Allowance. These allowances ceases to exist effective 1 August 2007 as it has been absorbed into the weekly wage rates. No additional Hospital Allowance will be payable from this date. Any Hospital Allowance paid post 1 August 2007 will be calculated and offset against pay increases.
