The 'Head Teacher' clause defines the role, responsibilities, and authority of the head teacher within an educational institution. Head Teacher. A teacher who, under the authority of the principal, acts as head teacher and performs the duties determined by the Board in a building of a school having more than one building at its disposal.
Head Teacher i. Time to fulfill responsibilities and perform specific duties shall be allotted at a minimum of 4 hours per week. ii. In the absence of the Principal for one day or more, a teacher-teaching-on-call will be provided if a teacher-teaching-on-call is available and a teacher-teaching- on-call has been requested by the Head Teacher. iii. Additional scheduled time may be authorized by the Superintendent to meet special circumstances.
Head Teacher. 1. In the event that the Board creates a position which is included in the bargaining unit as defined in Article A.2 (Recognition of the Union) of this Agreement, the Board shall negotiate with the ADTU, the appropriate remuneration. 2. In the event that no agreement is reached on the appropriate remuneration, then an interim rate of pay shall be set by the Board which: a. shall be greater than the teacher’s salary as determined in accordance with the Basic Salary Scale in Article B.1; and b. shall be subject to negotiation on a retroactive basis during the negotiations for a subsequent collective Agreement.
Head Teacher. The Board shall establish a “Head Teacher” position to serve in the absence of the principal and superintendent. The Head Teacher will be reimbursed at the rate of
Head Teacher. 1. Head Teachers shall be appointed to worksites which are under the jurisdiction of a Principal responsible for more than one worksite. 2. Existing positions of Head Teacher shall not be eliminated or changed without consultation with the union. 3. Head Teachers shall be appointed annually by the Superintendent or designate from among the volunteers for the position. 4. Notification that a position includes that of Head Teacher may appear on a posting. 5. Employees appointed to the position of Head Teacher shall receive a supplemental allowance equivalent to Department Head allowance, pro-rated for a portion of a year's service. 6. While acting as Head Teacher, the teacher is covered by all the terms and conditions of this agreement. 7. Employees appointed to the position of Head Teacher shall be given release time from instructional duties for administrative duties . A portion of the school's administrative time shall be made available to the Head Teacher through the mutual agreement of the Head Teacher and the Principal. This time shall be in addition to preparation time. 8. The Head Teacher shall assure that the safety of the students and the security of the school are maintained, and shall deal with emergent matters with the required assistance from District Supervisory Staff. Routine attendance recording and information reporting as required shall be maintained. 9. However, the Head Teacher shall not be responsible for the ongoing administrative or managerial duties in relation to other teachers and, specifically, shall not have any responsibility for evaluating or supervising other teachers.
Head Teacher. In the absence of Administration for an entire day or when the Superintendent deems it necessary for the smooth operation of the school day, a Head Teacher shall be provided to handle discipline procedures. The Head Teacher shall have the right to discipline a student based on the guidelines set forth by the administration. Head Teacher will be selected by administration from applicants at the start of the school year. When the Head Teacher is needed in lieu of the administration, he/she will be provided a substitute teacher and a stipend will be paid in the amount of $50.00 per day.
Head Teacher a. Head Teacher may be appointed to any facility that is considered separate from the main school facilities or in any facility under the supervision of a school administrator or a regional administrator. b. The Head teacher is directly responsible to the school administrator or to the Regional administrator for: i. assisting the principal/vice principal to ensure the provision of adequate materials and supplies, the effective use of the facilities, and the safety of students; ii. maintaining effective contact with parents and the general public; iii. maintaining such records and forms as are required by the principal/vice principal of the Conseil Scolaire Francophone including, but not limited to, pupil registration and attendance records and presence records; iv. dealing with emergencies which may arise. c. The Head Teacher shall not be responsible for supervisory or evaluative duties with respect to other teachers.
Head Teacher. A Head Teacher shall receive an allowance equal to 2% of the designated teacher’s Category Placement of the salary grid.
Head Teacher. If a head teacher is designated by a building Principal, the head teacher will be paid a yearly stipend as follows: Such designation shall occur by September 10 of any school year. It is understood the Principal may approve that such position may be shared by two teachers who shall receive a proportional share of the stipend.
Head Teacher. The head teacher shall be compensated one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500) per school year for services rendered during the normal workday. If an administrator requests that the head teacher accepts additional responsibilities after the normal workday, he/she will be compensated in addition to their stipend at the hourly rate of twenty dollars ($20.00) per hour.
