The Head Injury clause defines the procedures and responsibilities related to head injuries that may occur during the course of an activity, employment, or event. Typically, this clause outlines the steps to be taken if a participant or employee sustains a head injury, such as immediate medical assessment, notification of relevant parties, and possible suspension from further participation until cleared by a medical professional. Should an injury occurred to a student’s head the protocol may include direct pressure and summoning emergency medical personnel. • Punctures – If a student were to be punctured in some way during our training the protocol may include direct pressure, a tourniquet application, and summoning emergency medical personnel. Emergency Response Training in physical skills lends itself potential injury. Should an injury be sustained that is beyond our capability to address, the assigned emergency response officers will summon emergency medical personnel. The assigned first aid officers will attend to the injury until emergency medical personnel can arrive. The assigned notification officer will notify the chain of the command of the injury.
