Common use of Grievance Time Limits Clause in Contracts

Grievance Time Limits. Time limits in the following steps may be extended by mutual written consent of the Employer and the Union. Failure of an employee to file a grievance on a timely basis or to timely advance a grievance in accordance with the time limits set forth below will constitute a formal withdrawal of the grievance by the employee and the Union. Failure of the Employer to comply with the time limits set forth below shall result in the grievance being automatically elevated to the next step without any action necessary on the part of the employee.
