Geotechnical Testing Sample Clauses
Geotechnical Testing. If required, the Owner shall furnish, or direct the Design/Builder to obtain, at the Owner's expense, the services of geotechnical engineers as necessary for the Project. Such services may include, but are not limited to, test borings, test pits, sub-surface imaging, determinations of soil bearing values, percolation tests, evaluations of hazardous materials, ground corrosion and resistivity tests, including necessary operations for anticipating subsoil conditions, with reports and appropriate Design/Builder recommendations.
Geotechnical Testing. The Engineer shall provide the following geotechnical testing services:
1. Perform all applicable soil exploration and geotechnical testing in accordance with the most recent edition of the State’s Geotechnical Manual. Calculations should include:
a. Slope stability analysis
b. Settlement analysis for all structures and embankments
c. Factor of safety computations for bearing stability, global stability, overturning, and sliding
d. Retaining wall calculations including bearing pressure, passive earth pressure, friction factor, and lateral earth pressure.
2. Provide a geotechnical summary report, signed and sealed by a professional engineer registered by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, containing all items listed below. All reports, layouts, and logs should be signed, sealed, and dated if applicable, and should be prepared in accordance with State standards.
a. Generalized surface conditions
b. Ground water conditions
c. Grain size distribution curves with D50 value and consolidation summary report
d. Summaries and design recommendations for all applicable calculations and analyses listed above, including those for slope stability, settlement, retaining walls, and factors of safety
e. Any other details to be included in the PS&E package.
Geotechnical Testing. 1. Employ the services of a licensed geotechnical firm to collect data including but not limited to: soil samples, seasonal high water table, recommendations for soils compactions, boring logs, etc.
Geotechnical Testing. The Owner shall, in a timely manner, furnish, or direct the Design/Builder to obtain, at the Owner’s expense, the services of geotechnical engineers as necessary for the Project. Such services may include, but are not limited to, test borings, test pits, sub-surface imaging, determinations of soil bearing values, percolation tests, evaluations of hazardous materials, ground corrosion and resistivity tests, including necessary operations for anticipating subsoil conditions, with reports and appropriate recommendations to Design/Builder. Nothing contained in this subsection shall confer responsibility for hazardous materials, unsuitable material or differing site conditions upon Design/Builder.
