General Commitments. 7.1 The Company commits itself to: (a) sustaining a professional, ethical and motivated work environment, aimed at presenting the highest standard of symphonic music to the widest possible audience, and to develop and interpret the art form from an Australian perspective; (b) providing and promoting a safe and healthy workplace, having regard for relevant occupational health and safety legislation; (c) observing sound Equal Employment Opportunity practices and maintaining a workplace that is free from intimidation, including sexual and racial harassment; (d) ensuring employees are provided with regular and meaningful feedback on individual, team and Company performance; (e) encouraging employees to establish and pursue personal and team goals consistent with the Company's objectives; (f) making employees aware of suitable progression opportunities within the Company having regard for their career interests and prospects; (g) encouraging ongoing improvement within the organisation by company-initiated development programs and the provision of reasonable support for employees seeking to update their skills to meet emerging challenges. (h) Ensuring appropriate consultation with employees over issues that may significantly affect the performance of their work. Employee Benefits (i) Provision of free fresh fruit, bread, condiments, in the Pitt St kitchen for staff usage (j) Provision of a salary sacrificing scheme through the Company’s provider Salpac (k) Access to discounted tickets for Sydney Symphony performances subject to availability 7.2 Employees commit to: (a) giving the whole of his/her ability and attention to the business and affairs of the Company, on such days and hours as may be reasonably necessary, consistent with this Agreement; (b) faithfully and diligently performing the duties and exercising the powers consistent with the position that may be assigned to the employee by the Company; (c) carrying out such duties that the Company considers are within the limits of his/her skill, competence and training. (d) complying with all reasonable directions given to him/her by the Company; (e) observing and complying with the provisions set out in any written policy, practice or procedure circulated by the Company; (f) using his/her best endeavours to promote the interests of the Company; (g) protecting the property of the Company from theft, loss, damage or neglect and without delay giving notice immediately to the Company of any theft, loss, damage or neglect of that property that may come to his/her knowledge; (h) providing his/her services exclusively to the Company during his/her period of employment and not during this period, without the prior consent of the Company (such consent not to be unreasonably withheld), to engage in or undertake any work for any other person, firm of corporation. (i) not disclosing or using any confidential information of any kind concerning the business, affairs or customers of the Company that may come to his/her knowledge, except with prior Company approval or as may be required by law (this commitment continues even after he/she leaves the employment of the Company); (j) acknowledging that ownership in any original material created by him/her in the course of his/her duties will vest with the Company.
