Common use of General Availability Clause in Contracts

General Availability. The commitment to availability specified in the letter of appointment shall be subject to mutually acceptable revision. Such revision will occur once per year or, if mutually agreed between the Employer and the employee, on a more frequent basis. The Employer will issue a revised letter of appointment to reflect approved changes to employee’s general availability. Casual employees who are not offered 225 hours over a twelve (12) month period within their agreed upon availability are not required to meet the minimum standard. Casual employees’ preferences for specific shifts or areas of work will not be accommodated at the expense of regular employees’ schedules or areas of work.
