Common use of Garbage Collection Clause in Contracts

Garbage Collection. The Contractor shall collect all Garbage set out for disposal by Multifamily and Commercial Customers in Garbage Containers, and adjacent to, if properly prepared. Multifamily and Commercial Customers shall be offered a full range of Container and service options, including Garbage Carts, non-compacted Detachable Containers, and compacted Detachable Containers. Customer-owned or Customer-leased Detachable Container compactors shall be collected by the Contractor unless the Container is incompatible with the Contractor’s equipment. Materials in excess of Container capacity or the subscribed service level shall be collected and properly charged as Extra Units. Extra charges may be assessed for materials loaded so as to lift the Container lid in excess of six inches (6”) from the normally closed position. The Contractor shall develop and maintain route lists in sufficient detail to allow accurate recording and charging of all Extra Units. Multifamily and Commercial Customers may request extra collections and shall pay a proportional amount of their regular monthly rate for that service as established by the City.
