Common use of Full Powers Clause in Contracts

Full Powers. 5. In international law, a Head of State, Head of Government or Minister for Foreign Affairs may sign a treaty in his or her own right. Anyone else needs to produce ‘Full Powers’ signed by one of those three representatives. Full Powers can take time to produce so they should be prepared well in advance of the proposed date of signature of the Agreement (at least three days in advance is suggested).
