Common use of Franchise Extensions Clause in Contracts

Franchise Extensions. Seller covenants and agrees that, as soon as practicable following the execution of this Agreement, it will apply to the applicable Governmental Authority for an extension (the "Extensions") of each franchise described on Schedule 1.5 with an expiration date prior to June 30, 2000. Each such Extension shall have an expiration date no earlier than June 30, 2000 and shall otherwise be on substantially the terms and conditions of the current franchises, subject to modifications customarily imposed by Governmental Authorities, but which shall not impose any conditions or obligations which are materially more burdensome than contained in the current franchise.
