For Train Drivers no Shift shall, except where necessary to enable them to make up their time to ordinary fortnightly hours, be less than 5 hours. 115.4. Rosters in the Suburban Electric Service shall not consist of more than 4 ordinary Shifts per fortnight in excess of 193 kilometres and up to and including 217 kilometres. Two hundred and seventeen kilometres is the maximum distance which can be incorporated into Suburban Electrical Service rosters. 115.5. Guards may be rostered to work more than 10 hours but not more than 11 hours provided that they: (a) return home by working one Shift instead of booking off for rest away from their home station; or (b) will not, in any case, after arrival at the rostered terminal, with the train they were rostered to run, be required to perform any duty other than that for which they were rostered. (c) excepting in the case of an accident, emergency or unforeseen or practically unavoidable event, straight Shifts worked by guards shall be completed within 11 hours, except in cases where, if relief was not provided, the rostered run can be completed within 12 hours. 115.6. Operational Wages Employees whose ordinary hours of labour are 76 hours per fortnight or less shall not be rostered to work more than 9 hours on any one Shift unless Agreement is reached in accordance with the provisions of Clause 25 (Hours of Work).

  • First Aid Training In the interests of the occupational safety and health of employees, the Employer will undertake an in-service program of first aid training aimed at providing a first aid officer for each department.

  • Bus Drivers The provisions of this Article apply to school term bus drivers except as hereinafter modified. Bus Drivers are guaranteed a base of one thousand and ninety (1090) hours per school year. Guarantee consists of 1090 hours divided by possible working days in a school year times actual number of days worked. This excludes Saturday and Sunday and General Holiday trips. (a) Regular shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers to school in the morning and home in the afternoon. (b) Extra shift is defined as the conveyance of passengers for extra-curricular activities. (c) Shifts shall be paid at a minimum of two (2) hours and drivers' time will be uninterrupted if less than one-half (½) hour remains between shifts. (i) Drivers are entitled to one 15 minute rest period after two (2) hours of work and a second rest period after six (6) hours of work. Paid waiting times of 15 minutes or more will be construed as a paid rest period regardless of the length of time spent waiting. (d) All work after nineteen hundred (1900) hours on those days on which the regular shift has been worked shall be deemed to be overtime. After twelve (12) hours from the start of the regular shift, work will be deemed as overtime. (e) Hours of work consisting of regular and extra shifts and overtime are shared as equally as possible amongst drivers. Each driver has the opportunity to choose a percentage of the work available beyond one’s guaranteed hours, although the decision of the Employer will prevail. If no drivers are available, other transportation department staff may share the work. (f) Where School District transportation is used for extra-curricular trips on Saturdays and Sundays, the following applies instead of the overtime rates in Article 10.2: (i) Time and one-half (1 ½) regular rate for driving to and from destination. (ii) Upon arrival at destination, waiting time shall be paid at the regular rate of pay. (iii) No shift will be paid less than four (4) hours. (iv) Trips that are cancelled where the driver positions into departure point/school shall be paid at two (2) hours at one and one half (1 ½) times the regular rate. (v) All work carried out in this sub paragraph 9.5(f) shall be on a volunteer basis and shared as equally as possible. All Transportation employees may participate and shall be paid at the Bus Driver rate of pay. (vi) An exception to 9.5 (f) (i) to (iv) above will apply to bus driving on ski trips. Bus drivers who drive on ski trips shall share those hours only with other registered ski trip drivers. (g) Work carried out on General Holidays shall be paid in accordance with the current contract rates. (h) At the end of each school year a review of school bus drivers’ hours of work will be made to ensure minimum guarantee is met. Any shortages will be paid out.

  • Maintenance Training 16.8.1 The Seller will provide maintenance training for the Buyer’s ground personnel as further set forth in Appendix A to this Clause 16. The available courses will be as listed in the Seller’s Customer Services Catalog current at the time of the course. The practical training provided in the frame of maintenance training will be performed on the training devices in use in the Seller’s Training Centers.

  • Funding for Training (a) In furtherance of the objectives of clause 33 hereof, and as a further initiative to enhance the employment and career opportunities of the Employees, the Parties to this Agreement will continue to facilitate on- going training to improve OHS in the industry and to improve Employees’ work skills so as to advance progression to higher industry skill levels. (b) To support the cost of these training initiatives the Employer will make a payment per Employee per week as per the table below. Such monies will be paid into Incolink to support Incolink’s continued training funding initiatives. 1 July 2024 $12.50 1 October 2025 $13.50 1 October 2026 $16.00 1 October 2027 $18.50 Provided that the Incolink arrangements are appropriately ordered so as to provide for: (i) joint employer/Union management of the training funding; (ii) access to funding in accordance with agreed guidelines, by all participating employers and unions. (c) In the event of Incolink being unable to provide the above arrangements, the Parties to this Agreement agree to establish an alternative mechanism with the intention of meeting the commitments expressed in clause 25.11(b) above. (d) The liability of the Employer to pay for the cost of training courses they approve in accordance with clauses 15.8 and 33, will be met by the making of the contributions on behalf of each Employee as required by this clause.

  • Orientation and Training A transferring employee will be orientated separately to both or their new home in accordance with Article 20 the collective agreement of the designated employer.
