for Canada. 1. With respect to mobile sources of NOx and VOC emissions, Canada shall control and reduce its emissions of NOx and VOC in accordance with the following obligations: 1. Continue the application of the following emission control measures: 1. Emission standards for new light-duty vehicles, light-duty trucks, heavyduty vehicles, heavy-duty engines and motorcycles: Motor Vehicle Safety Act (and successor legislation), Schedule V of the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations: Vehicle Emissions (Standard 1100), SOR/97-376, (28 July, 1997). 2. The Recreational Marine Engine Memorandum of Understanding between Environment Canada and manufacturers of spark-ignited marine engines to supply the Canadian market with engines designed to comply with U.S. federal spark-ignited marine engine emissions standards starting with the 2001 model year. This is an interim measure that will be overtaken and replaced by the regulation referred to in subparagraph (b)(iv) below.
