FOR ARTICULATION. This class provides students with a comprehensive medical vocabulary, including pronunciation, spelling, meaning of prefixes, suffixes and medical word roots, the process of defining medical words based on word roots, an understanding of anatomy, basic physiology and the disease process through body systems. Students will associate abbreviations, symbols, diagnostic procedures, pharmaceuticals and treatment for each of the ten body systems. (Integumentary, Gastrointestinal (Digestive), Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Lymph/Immune, Musculoskeletal, Female Reproduction, Genitourinary, Endocrine, Nervous, and a special unit in Special Senses)
