Float er Days. Each full-time employee w ho has completed at least one (1) year of continuous service shall be entitled to a maximum of seven (7) Float er Days per calendar year. Such Float er Days shall be available to the employee on the basis of not more than three (3) days off w ork w ith pay prior to June 1st each year, and the remaining four (4) days off w ork w ith pay follow ing June 1st each year but prior to December 31st each year. An employee shall advise the City at least tw o (2) hours prior to the commencement of his/her normal shift in the case of sudden illness or emergency, and in any other instance w ith as much notice in advance as reasonably possible. The employee w ill notify the City in w riting of his/her w ish to receive payment for the Floater Day and the records of the City shall be deemed final and complet e. Payment for a Floater day shall be at the employee’ s regular rate of pay, w ith a day representing eight (8) hours. Employees w ill not be permitted to take a part day. Employees may bank and carry over into the follow ing calendar year up to seven unused float er days. These banked float er days may be used at any time during the subsequent calendar year. Employees must notify the City in w riting by December 15th of each year of their desire to bank unused floater days. Any unused floater days beyond seven or, in the absence of ▇ ▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ request to bank, all floater days, w ill be paid out by the City in the first pay period of the subsequent year. * 10.12 Reinstat ement of Vacation Leave due to Disability The employer w ill consider reinstating vacation leave if an employee becomes seriously disabled w ▇▇▇▇ on vacation under the follow ing conditions: a) The employee must provide a medical certificate justifying the application for vacation reinstatement. No consideration w ill be given for any time before the date the employee actually received professional medical attention. b) The period of disability is at least five (5) consecutive days and covers at least one (1) complete booked w eek of vacation immediat ▇▇▇ follow ing the date the employee first received professional medical attention. c) The disability must be of sufficient severity to significantly restrict alternate activities and impair any possible enjoyment of the vacation.   • Lieu Days Where an employee is granted a lieu day pursuant to Clause 17.3 or 17.4 of this Agreement, the time off granted will be seven (7) hours per lieu day for a full-time employee and prorated for a part-time employee.
