Float Employee. For the purpose of this Agreement the term "Float" is used to describe how an Employee derives a daily work assignment. A Float Employee has regularly scheduled hours with a variable location assignment. A Float Employee's primary purpose is to provide temporary replacement for scheduled and unscheduled absences of regularly scheduled Core Employees (see section A.2.i below). If replacement is not needed, a Float Employee's schedule will be opened to maintain his/her coded hours. Float Employees are recognized in all of the Employee definitions above (except Core and On- Call) but are distinct in the variability of their work locations.
Float Employee. An employee who is newly hired or who transfers from another position to the Float Pool and who works at least two (2) different shifts within a normal work period is considered a float employee. Such employment status shall be documented and maintained in such employee’s personnel file by the Employer.
Float Employee. An employee assigned as a float person between two buildings shall be reimbursed at the rate of $15 per month in lieu of mileage allowance.
Float Employee. If employees must be temporarily reassigned and a regularly scheduled float employee is working in the clinic, the regularly scheduled float employee, if qualified, shall be the employee to be reassigned, regardless of seniority.

The Float employeesprimary purpose is to provide replacement for scheduled and unscheduled absences of regularly scheduled employees, and to provide additional staffing stability and flexibility for responding to work load fluctuations and as needed for continuity of operations. 3. Full-Time/Part-Time Float Employee a. A Full-Time Float employee is defined as an employee who is scheduled to work a variable work schedule of forty 40) hours per workweek. The predetermined work schedule may be at one (1) or multiple work sites. b. A Part-Time Float employee is defined as an employee who is scheduled to work a variable work schedule of less than forty (40) hours per work week. The predetermined work schedule may be at one (1) or more multiple work sites.
