First General Wage Increase Clause Samples

The First General Wage Increase clause establishes the initial across-the-board pay raise for employees covered by an agreement. Typically, this clause specifies the percentage or amount of the wage increase, the effective date when the new rates take effect, and which job classifications or employee groups are eligible. Its core practical function is to ensure all parties understand when and how the first wage adjustment will be implemented, providing predictability and transparency in compensation changes at the outset of a contract.
