Fire Flow Evaluation Sample Clauses
Fire Flow Evaluation. The capability the water system has of delivering fire flows will be evaluated. Fire flow requirements will be associated with each hydrant that is modeled, based on the land use types that are near the hydrant. Where deficiencies are identified, capital improvements or water system configuration changes will be identified to improve fire flows. System configuration changes could include PRVs from adjacent zones to deliver greater fire flows. Capital improvements could include greater pumping capacity, increased distribution system looping, and larger main sizes. Priority will be given to making improvements for the greatest benefit for the expenditures that are made. A lower priority will be given to hydrants that are on cul-de-sacs or other locations where looping or other improvements may not be cost effective. Capital improvements that are specific to improving fire flows will be presented in the report to show the results of the fire flow analyses
