Common use of Field Tests Clause in Contracts

Field Tests. Operational tests will include the following: 3.1. Demonstration of function of all interlocks and limit switches. 3.2. Measurement of maximum speeds and accelerations of all motions under all specified load conditions. If no tolerance is specified, the speeds and accelerations quoted in the contract will be regarded as minima. 3.3. Verification, when spotting the hoist, that there is no lowering of the rated load at the start of hoisting or raising of the empty spreader on start of lowering. 3.4. Demonstration of brake torques and testing for thermal capacity. Each main hoist brake is to stop and hold the rated load from the maximum specified speeds with no regenerative or dynamic braking. 3.5. Demonstration of emergency stops under operating conditions. 3.6. Demonstration of each spreader function, including attaching and detaching the spreader from the headblock and proper coiling of the spreader umbilical cable. 3.7. Demonstration of twin-lift function, including lifting of differentially loaded boxes. 3.8. Verification of mating of trolley crane rails at the boom hinge and smooth operation of the trolley over the hinge. 3.9. Demonstration of storm lock pins, including interlocks. 3.10. Demonstration of mating of gantry buffers.
