Common use of Federal Rights Clause in Contracts

Federal Rights. Unless the Federal Government later makes a contrary determination in writing, the rights and responsibilities of the County, Contractor, and the Federal Government pertaining to that invention, improvement, or discovery will be determined in accordance with applicable Federal laws and regulations, including any waiver thereof. Unless the Federal Government later makes a contrary determination in writing, the Contractor agrees that, irrespective of its status or the status of any subcontractor at any tier (e.g., a large business, small business, non-profit organization, institution of higher education, individual), the Contractor agrees it will transmit to the Federal Government those rights due the Federal Government in any invention resulting from the contract.
