Failure of a. Unit Member to return and render service or to complete the scheduled leave program shall not result in reimbursement to the District if such failure is due to the Unit Member's death or it is certified by a physician designated by or satisfactory to the District that failure was due to the Unit Member's bonafide physical or mental disability.
