Faculty Orientations Clause Samples
The Faculty Orientations clause establishes the requirement and procedures for orienting new faculty members to the institution. Typically, this clause outlines the timing, content, and responsibilities for conducting orientation sessions, which may include familiarizing faculty with institutional policies, teaching resources, and administrative processes. Its core function is to ensure that new faculty are adequately prepared to fulfill their roles, promoting a smooth transition and consistent understanding of institutional expectations.
Faculty Orientations. UFF shall be given the opportunity to sponsor a breakfast, lunch, or reception during the fall faculty new hire orientation.
Faculty Orientations. UFF shall be afforded the opportunity to set up a table for the purpose of distributing materials at the University New Faculty Orientation, and the existence and location of that table shall be mentioned during the orientation presentation. Notification by email of the date, time, and location of new faculty orientations shall be made to the UFF/UF President no later than two (2) weeks prior to the event.
Faculty Orientations i. UA-UNM may meet with newly hired bargaining unit members at the end of new faculty orientation as required by law and as scheduled by the Administration. Notification by email of the date, time, and location of faculty orientations shall be made to UA-UNM no later than two (2) weeks prior to the event.
ii. The Administration will facilitate the arrangement of a UA-UNM meeting for new bargaining unit members immediately following new faculty orientation, in the same location or online venue. The Administration will not present at this meeting.
iii. As specified in the PEBA, meetings with bargaining unit members shall not interfere with the orderly operation and functioning of the university. In particular, UA-UNM meetings with bargaining unit members will not interfere with bargaining unit members’ instructional time, research, office hours, delivery of assigned services, and/or other job duties.
