Export and Retrieval Clause Samples
The Export and Retrieval clause defines the rights and procedures for a party to export or retrieve data or materials from a system or service. Typically, this clause outlines the formats in which data can be exported, the timeframes for making such requests, and any technical or security requirements that must be met during the process. For example, it may allow a customer to download their stored information in a commonly used file format upon termination of a service agreement. The core function of this clause is to ensure that parties retain access to their data and can transition smoothly to other platforms or services, thereby preventing data lock-in and supporting business continuity.
