Common use of Excuses Clause in Contracts

Excuses. Two types of excuses for absences will be issued; excused and unexcused. Students will have three days to make up any work missed. Unexcused absences are very serious offenses. Teachers are encouraged to give alternate assignments and tests when an absence is unexcused. Therefore, we strongly urge students to be at school unless the absence is defined under the code below. Students who are suspended from school will be allowed to make up anything missed but the maximum grade received will be 65. Definition of an excused absence as defined by MS CODE 37-13-91:
