Common use of Exclusion from Coverage Clause in Contracts

Exclusion from Coverage. The Long-Term Disability Plan does not cover total disabilities resulting from: (a) War, insurrection, rebellion or service in the armed forces of any country after the commencement of this plan; (b) Voluntary participation in a riot or civil commotion except while an employee is in the course of performing the duties of their regular occupation; (c) Intentionally self-inflicted injuries or illness; (d) Convicted for committing a criminal offence; (e) A disability known to the Employer and which was specifically taken into account by the Employer at the time of hiring.
