EXCEPTION FOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. Nothing in this Agreement shall preclude Employer from using temporary or reassigned existing employees to perform essential functions of its operation; provided, however, Employer obligation to use good faith efforts to meet the hiring goals set forth in Section 2.1 shall remain in effect. For these purposes, “essential functions” means those functions necessary to meet business obligations.
