It is understood that the implementation of recommendations can occur only after thorough discussion in a joint environment. The Ergonomic will work on a pro-active basis to support joint Canada initiatives designed to reduce injuries and related Workers’ Compensation costs. The Ergonomic will meet on a regular basis with the National Health and Safety and the Canada Manager Occupational Health and Safety to discuss issues and initiatives, as well as areas of concern which could be addressed by the National Joint Committee. Following his/her appointment, meetings will take place to determine the courses required in order for the Ergonomic to upgrade his or her skills in the field and to function effectively, at a cost not to exceed the normal employee entitlement under the Company’s Tuition Refund Program taken in the aggregate over the life of the agreement. Tuition for courses will be payable by upon presentation of an invoice from the instructional institution. - - - - - - - - During negotiations the parties agreed to establish regional ergonomic representatives for the Toronto and W indsor area facilities to be appointed by the National President. One representative will be based in the Assembly Plant and the other in one of the Windsor Plants.
