Employee and Dependent Effective Dates. 1. A new employee and his/her eligible dependents or an employee rehired after his/her coverage terminates and his/her eligi- ble dependent(s) are eligible to participate in the plan on the first day of the month follow- ing the employee’s eligibility date as deter- mined by the employer. Except at initial employment, an employee and his/her eligi- ble dependents’ effective date of coverage is the first of the month coinciding with or after the eligibility date and after the waiting peri- od.
