Earthing. The Consumer shall not combine the neutral and protective functions in a single conductor at the Consumer’s installation. The Consumer is advised that the supply voltage, frequency and earthing are subject to the requirements specified by Electricity (Safety, Quality and Continuity) Regulations made by the Gazette Extraordinary No.1975/44 dated 2016.07.13 and any amendment thereto.
Earthing. Testing Facilities, Cable boxes and painting: Each Tee-off fuse switch and main circuit disconnector switch shall be provided with facilities for carrying out applied high voltage tests and injected current tests on the feeder connected to the switch and this shall be effected by the insertion of a three phase plug in testing device when the switch is in the “Earth” position, to become effective when the switch is in the “OFF” position. Four sets of these test plugs shall be supplied under this contract the cost of which deemed to be included in the contract prices. Tests access covers shall be provided with padlocking facilities and fully water proofed. If SF6 R.M.U's where offered, gas pressure gage shall be supplied with test plug mentioned above. Each equipment shall be provided with a main earth bar of not less than 40 mm X 2.5 h.d.
Earthing. The maximum earth fault current shall be 3 kA for 1 second, all earthing connections shall be provided with M12 details.
Earthing. There shall be two independent earthing stations at least 3 meters away from the pump room. The earthing shall consist of an earth tape connected to an independent plate made of C.I. having a conductivity of not less than 100% international standard. All electrical apparatus, cable boxes and sheath/ armour clamps shall be connected to the main bar by means of branch earth connections of appropriate size. All joints in the main bar and branch bar shall have the lapping surface properly tinned to prevent oxidation. The joints shall be revetted and sweathed. Earth plates shall be buried in a pit 1.2 x 1.2 meter a minimum depth of 3 meter below the ground. The connections between the main bars shall be made by means of three 10 mm brass studs and fixed at 100 mm centres. The pit shall filled with coke breeze, rock salt and loose soil. A.G.I.Pipe of 20mm i/d. with perforationon the periphery shall be placed vertically over the plate to reach ground level for watering. A brick masonry manhole 30 x 30 x 30 cm. size shall be provided to surround the pipe for inspection. A bolted removable link connecting main bar outside the pit portion leading to the plate shall be accommodated in this manhole for testing.
