Common use of Dues Checkoff Fair Share Clause in Contracts

Dues Checkoff Fair Share. ‌ Section 1. Dues Checkoff‌ During the term of this Agreement, Employer shall deduct from each Employee’s paycheck Union dues of each Employee for whom there is a dues checkoff authorization, submitted to the Union. The Union may change the amount during the term of this Agreement by giving Employer at least thirty days written notice of any change in the amount of the dues to be deducted. The Employer agrees to recognize all forms of Union Dues Authorization as utilized by the Union in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. Section 2. Indemnification‌ The Union shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Employer and its commissioners, officials, representatives, employees and agents against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability (monetary or otherwise), and for all reasonable legal costs that shall arise out of or by reason of action taken or not taken by Employer in complying with the provisions of this Article.
