Common use of Drilling and Abandonment of Xxxxx Clause in Contracts

Drilling and Abandonment of Xxxxx. The Concessionaire shall previously notify ANP of the start of drilling of any well in the Concession Area. The Concessionaire may interrupt the well drilling and abandon it before achieving the exploration objective established, pursuant to the Applicable Laws and Regulations and according to the Best Practices of the Oil Industry. If the well is part of the Minimum Exploration Program and does not achieve its exploration objective established in Annex II, its drilling shall not be calculated for purposes of conversion into Units of Work, unless ANP, at its sole discretion, so decides. ANP may exceptionally authorize drilling of xxxxx in locations outside the Concession Area, due to Production Individualization Agreements or environmental issues.
