Drainage Evaluation and Design Clause Samples

Drainage Evaluation and Design. The airport has no existing or historical drainage data available. The project area is situated in the gently rolling plains of the upper Arkansas River Valley. The local topography is characterized by gently rolling to steeply gullied and incised shale plains. Elevation above mean sea level averages 4,650 feet at Pueblo Memorial Airport. Drainage is provided by the Arkansas River and its tributaries. An initial review of the existing site conditions shows the offsite drainage flows southward and is collected in ditches (▇▇▇▇▇▇▇) along each side of the existing primary runway (Runway 8R‐26L). The crosswind runway (Runway 17‐35) divides the offsite drainage into east and west flows. Flow on the west side of the crosswind runway is then directed west to the creek within the FEMA floodplain, while flow on the east side of the crosswind runway is directed east to the other creek designated as a FEMA floodplain.
