Downgrades. 4.1 When an employee fails to perform in the new job title, or chooses to retreat, the employee shall be returned to the former job consistent with Article 12, Movement of Personnel. 4.2 When an employee is downgraded from Class IV to Class I: • the employee's previous Class I rate will be reinstated; • or the six (6) month hourly rate, if eligible, will be reinstated; • and will include longevity increases or certification pay, if eligible; whichever is greater.
