Dispatch Procedure. 24.01 All dispatches shall be assigned to drivers who are qualified and experienced on the basis of seniority subject to their availability for work at the time the dispatch is assigned. 24.02 All drivers will be given a written dispatch setting out delivery time and pick up time. Dispatches will be arranged, where practical, so as to allow drivers a maximum of two (2) hours to report for duty after being so notified. 24.03 A driver at his home terminal will not be considered available for dispatch unless he has eight (8) clear hours off duty, except in an emergency where there is no one available with eight (8) hours off duty, then that driver with the most hours off, will be dispatched. 24.04 Drivers required to lay over at any lay over point shall be entitled to eight (8) clear hours off duty. 24.05 Drivers on lay over will be given a minimum of one (1) hour to report for work except where the location of their sleeping accommodations require them to take longer but in no case longer than two (2) hours. 24.06 No driver will be held over away from his home terminal on a Paid Holiday or on a Sunday unless circumstances warrant such lay-over. 24.07 Employees must notify dispatch of their availability for next day's assignment by 5:30 p.m. advising of how they may be reached for assignment. Failing such notice an employee waives his right to be considered for available assignments. 08 a) As at 5:30 p.m. each working day assignments will be dispatched to available personnel based upon seniority, qualifications and experience. Assignments which become available after 5:30 p.m. and after a driver has already been dispatched will be made available to remaining drivers.
