Common use of Disappearance Clause in Contracts

Disappearance. If the body of an insured person has not been found within 365 days of the forced landing, stranding, sinking or wrecking of a conveyance in which such person was an occupant, then, for the purposes of this insurance such insured person shall, in the absence of any evidence to the contrary, be deemed to have suffered loss of life.
