Common use of Disappearance Clause in Contracts

Disappearance. If an Insured Person disappears and after a suitable period of time it is reasonable for the Police or registration authorities to believe that such Insured Person has died as a result of Bodily Injury, the Death benefit shall become payable subject to a signed undertaking being given by the executor’s of the deceased’s estate that if the belief is subsequently found to be wrong such Death benefit shall be refunded to Chubb.
