Common use of Definition of Dependent Clause in Contracts

Definition of Dependent. The definition of a dependent shall include the domestic partner of an employee and the dependents of such domestic partner. Any employee claiming a domestic partner and/or the dependents of such domestic partner for purposes of this Article shall have an approved City Affidavit of Domestic Partnership form or a registered State of California Declaration of Domestic Partnership form on file in the Employee Benefits Office, Personnel Department, which identifies that individual as the employee’s domestic partner. By extending to an employee the specific benefits defined by this Article, the City does not intend to confer or imply any other unspecified benefits to such employee, or to the employee's domestic partner, or to the dependents of such domestic partner.
