Deduction Process. Payroll deductions or payments in lieu of dues, assessments or service charges shall be made by the disbursing officer for the Employer. Proper amounts of the dues and assessments shall be certified by the Secretary/Treasurer of the IAFF Local 3340 to the Employer and shall be effective on the date indicated by the IAFF Local 3340 after the Contract becomes effective. The Employer shall make these deductions each month without any requirement of specific authorizations by the affected employee and shall continue for the life of the Agreement as long as the employee is employed and is in the bargaining unit.
