Crane operator. When the distance be- tween the employee’s residence and the job site is 300 or more kilometres, the compen- sation specified in Article 23.09 4) a) shall also be payable for the day preceding the first day of work when the employee must travel and obtain room and board on the day before he reports to work. This com- pensation is only payable once per job site and per employer. This special rule applies also when an employee is called back to work on the same job site following layoff, except in the case of a compulsory annual vacation.
