Course Selection. Tenure-track faculty will be given preference for their standard instructional and reassigned workload hours selected at their assigned campus (Columbus or Delaware) and the amount of overload hours allowed under this Agreement. If the College determines there is an enrollment decline impacting a faculty member’s ability to meet their standard minimum workload within a department, the College will make every reasonable effort to offer work that completes the standard minimum workload. ACF will be given preference of assignments to reach their maximum workload hours after tenure-track faculty have selected overloads and before assignments to adjunct faculty. Ultimately, course assignments are subject to the department Chairperson's discretion. By the start of Spring semester 2018, the College, the Association, and the Academic Council will form a committee to develop recommendations on a standardized process that would apply to the manner in which faculty within a department equitably rotate through the course selection process in order to reach their full workload. By February 28, 2018, the committee will submit to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs those recommendations for consideration and final determination. The Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs will collaborate with the Association and Academic Council as a part of his/her review process. By the start of Summer semester 2018, the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs will communicate to faculty the approved process. Modifications to the process shall apply to the master schedule for Autumn semester 2018 and beyond.
