Conversion to Vacant Position. If the one-year contract position is available for the third consecutive year, it will be offered as a vacant position pursuant to Article VI, with the exception of vacancies due to extended illness which shall be filled at end of the third year first, by the returning faculty member or second, by posting. In the event that the person under the one-year contract is selected for the position, the prior time shall be counted toward the probationary period.
