Consultation and Process. 17.2.1 Prior to any redundancies occurring, there shall be consultations in accordance with this clause of this Agreement to ensure all circumstances have been considered and alternative opportunities examined.
17.2.2 Wherever possible, the Company shall endeavour to minimise the need for redundancies by utilising natural attrition and alternative employment before voluntary redundancies are sought.

Where there are more volunteers than redundancies, employees with longer service will have preference in accessing a package. Consultation and Process. 15.1.1 Prior to any redundancies occurring, there shall be consultations in accordance with this procedure to ensure all circumstances have been considered and alternative opportunities examined. Employer to hold discussions
(a) Where the employer has made a definite decision that the employer no longer wishes the job the employee has been doing done by anyone and this is not due to the ordinary and customary turnover of labour and that decision may lead to termination of employment, the employer shall hold discussions with the employees directly affected and with the Union.
(b) The discussions shall take place as soon as is practicable after the employer has made a definite decision which will invoke the provisions of 15.1.1(a) and shall cover inter alia, any reasons for the proposed terminations, measures to avoid or minimise the terminations and measures to mitigate any adverse effects of any terminations on the employees concerned.
(c) For the purposes of the discussion the employer shall, as soon as practicable, provide in writing to the employees concerned and the Union, all relevant information about the proposed terminations including the reasons for the proposed terminations, the number and categories of employees likely to be affected, and the number of workers normally employed and the period over which the terminations are likely to be carried out. The employer shall not be required to disclose confidential information the disclosure of which would be inimical to the employer’s interest.
15.1.2 Wherever possible, the Company shall endeavour to minimise the need for redundancies by utilising natural attrition and alternative employment before voluntary redundancies are sought.
15.1.3 This agreement shall apply to all those permanent full time and part time employees, other than those specifically hired as short term employees, who are made redundant. This agreement shall not apply to employees who: * Are employed as casual, temporary or short term employees. * Terminate their employment of their own accord for any reason prior to receiving formal notice of redundancy. * Leave employment due to retirement. * Are terminated, including dismissal, for any reason other than retrenchment. * Refuse an offer of ongoing suitable employment in another position. * Are employed after the date of announcement that redundancy is to occur (i.e. those employed who know their employment will cease).
Consultation and Process. The school's headship Structure will form part of the school's organization. As such the principal will consult with the school's to attempt to reach a consensus on the nature of the school's headship structure so that staff input may be considered. If there is no consensus, the Superintendent of Education and the Bargaining Unit representative will be asked to assist. Should there remain a dispute at the end of this review, then the matter will be referred to the Joint Staffing Committee for further discussion. If no agreement is reached in this forum, then the decision of the Director of Educationor designate will be binding. Also, should the proposed school headship structure deviate from the model outlined above, it shall be referred to the Joint Staffing for approval.
