Constructability and Design Review; Value Engineering Clause Samples

The "Constructability and Design Review; Value Engineering" clause establishes procedures for reviewing project designs to ensure they are practical to build and cost-effective. Typically, this involves periodic assessments by the contractor or a third party to identify potential construction challenges, suggest design improvements, and recommend alternative materials or methods that could reduce costs without compromising quality. The core function of this clause is to enhance project efficiency and value by proactively addressing design issues and optimizing construction processes, thereby minimizing costly changes and delays during construction.
Constructability and Design Review; Value Engineering. The District reserves the right to conduct, or cause to be conducted, constructability reviews and/or value engineering of the Design Development Documents. If the District elects to conduct either constructability reviews or value engineering, the District shall notify the Architect of the same and the Architect shall submit Design Development Documents to the District for such constructability reviews and/or value engineering. The District and Architect will confer and consult with each other to arrive at mutual understandings and agreements as to which of the constructability review and/or value engineering comments are to be incorporated into the Design Development Documents. The Design Development Documents shall incorporate mutually agreed upon comments and the Architect shall submit Design Development Documents to the District for approval. Architect shall revise Design Development Documents as necessary to obtain the District’s reasonable approval thereof.

The Construction Documents shall incorporate mutually agreed upon comments and the Architect shall submit revised Construction Documents to the District for approval Architect shall revise Construction Documents as necessary to obtain the District’s reasonable approval thereof. Should the District direct the Architect to incorporate constructability review and/or value engineering comments that would require design effort beyond the original scope, the Architect may be entitled to compensation for extra services, in accordance with Section 3.11.2.

If the District elects to conduct either a constructability review or value engineering, the District shall notify the Architect of the same and thereupon at Architect’s completion of the Construction Documents for the Project to seventy five percent (75%) and one hundred percent (100%), the Construction Documents shall be submitted to the District for constructability and design review and value engineering comments. The District and Architect will confer and consult with the other to arrive at mutual understandings and agreements as to which of the constructability, design and value engineering comments are to be incorporated into the Construction Documents. Architect’s Construction Documents for the Project shall incorporate such mutually agreed upon comments and the Architect shall submit revised Construction Documents for the Project to the District for review and approval. Architect shall revise Construction Documents as necessary to obtain the District’s reasonable approval thereof.

Related to Constructability and Design Review; Value Engineering

  • Value Engineering The Supplier may prepare, at its own cost, a value engineering proposal at any time during the performance of the contract. The value engineering proposal shall, at a minimum, include the following; a) the proposed change(s), and a description of the difference to the existing contract requirements; b) a full cost/benefit analysis of the proposed change(s) including a description and estimate of costs (including life cycle costs) the Procuring Entity may incur in implementing the value engineering proposal; and c) a description of any effect(s) of the change on performance/functionality.

  • Constructability Review Prepare detailed interdisciplinary constructability review within Fourteen (14) days of receipt of the plans from the District that: 10.1.2.1.6.1 Ensures construction documents are well coordinated and reviewed for errors; 10.1.2.1.6.2 Identifies to the extent known, construction deficiencies and areas of concern; 10.1.2.1.6.3 Back-checks design drawings for inclusion of modifications; and 10.1.2.1.6.4 Provides the District with written confirmation that: 10.1.2.1.6.4.1 Requirements noted in the design documents prepared for the Project are consistent with and conform to the District's Project requirements and design standards. 10.1.2.1.6.4.2 Various components have been coordinated and are consistent with each other so as to minimize conflicts within or between components of the design documents.

  • Engineering Forest Service completed survey and design for Specified Roads prior to timber sale advertisement, unless otherwise shown in A8 or Purchaser survey and design are specified in A7. On those roads for which Forest Service completes the design during the contract, the design quantities shall be used as the basis for revising estimated costs stated in the Schedule of Items and adjusting Timber Sale Account. (a) A7 to show Purchaser’s performance responsibility. (b) The Schedule of Items to include costs of survey and design, as provided under B5.24, and adjust Timber Sale Account, as provided in B5.

  • Construction Completion The related Construction shall have been completed substantially in accordance with the related Plans and Specifications, the related Deed and all Applicable Laws, and such Leased Property shall be ready for occupancy and operation. All fixtures, equipment and other property contemplated under the Plans and Specifications to be incorporated into or installed in such Leased Property shall have been substantially incorporated or installed, free and clear of all Liens except for Permitted Liens.
