The 'Compostables' clause defines the requirements and standards for materials or products that are intended to be composted. Compostables. Any organic waste material that is Source-separated for processing or composting, such as Yard Debris, clean scrap wood, Food Scraps, and compostable bags that meet ASTM D6400 or ASTM D6868 standards generated by any Residential, Multifamily, or Commercial Customers. Shredded uncontaminated paper shall be accepted as a Compostable material unless disallowed by the Contractor’s composting processor.
Compostables. Materials capable of undergoing biological decomposition in a compost site as part of an available program such that the material is not visually distinguishable and breaks down into carbon dioxide, water, inorganic c o m pounds, and biomass at a rate consistent with known compostable materials. Contaminants - any materials outside the definition of organic/compostable matter included herein and as determined outside the scope of organic and or biodegradable that are commingled in the processing loads to include glass, plastics, metals, and foam products. Food Waste - all food scraps, including all animal meats, dairy products, grease and bones; paper which has been contaminated with food, fat or grease; and soiled cardboard and paper including paper towels, paper plates, bags, tissue and waxed paper. Organic Waste - includes food, yard and wood waste, ASTM D6400 Biodegradable Products Institute certified compostable bags, single-use food service ▇▇▇▇, and other organic materials as mutually agreed to by the City and the Contractor. Wood Waste - any wood or tree limbs over four (4) inches in diameter, unpainted and untreated, lumber, and cedar shingles, and other clean wood delivered to the City facilities. Yard Waste - plant material (leaves, grass clippings, branches, brush, flowers, roots, wood waste, etc.); debris commonly thrown away in the course of maintaining yards and gardens, including sod and a small number of incidental rocks not over two (2) inches in diameter; and biodegradable waste approved for the yard waste programs of the City. Zero Waste - a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices to emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all wasted materials are designed to become resources for others to use. Zero Waste means designing and managing products and processes to systematically avoid and eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste and materials, conserve and recover all resources, and not burn or bury them. Implementing Zero Waste will eliminate all discharges to land, water or air that are a threat to planetary, human, animal or plant health. Compostables. The word “Compostables” means Yard Debris and Food Scraps separately or combined.
Compostables. Any combination of Yard Debris and Food Scraps generated by Residential, Multifamily or Commercial Customers that is Source-separated for collection by Contractor in designated containers. Shredded uncontaminated paper, cardboard, and compostable food service ware shall only be accepted as a Compostable material to the extend permitted by Contractor’s composting processor.
Compostables. Carts and Detachable Containers shall be delivered by the Contractor to new Multi-Family Complexes or Commercial Customers within three (3) days.
Compostables. Contractor shall deliver the compostables collected to a CDPHE- registered composting facility, and provide the Town the name and location of the facility. • Collection Carts. Carts shall be Republic Logo blue body carts with Black lids for residential trash collection, Light Blue lids for residential recycling collection and Brown lids for residential organics collection. Town customers shall have the option of choosing a 35, 65 or 95-gallon cart for waste collection for each waste stream. If a customer needs more than one waste collection cart, the Contractor will provide an additional cart for a fee to accommodate the customer. The resident must already subscribe to the 95-gallon cart size in order to be eligible to receive a second cart. Contractor shall handle customer requests for changes in carts sizes, cart repairs and replacement carts. Contractor shall allow customers who request to not have an organics cart to opt-out of that service for no reduced service cost. Contractor shall incorporate three free cart-size changes or replacements per year for each account. Contractor shall provide types of carts and lids that are able to withstand the strong winds in the area.
