Common use of Compensation for Exchange of Traffic Clause in Contracts

Compensation for Exchange of Traffic. The Parties shall compensate each other for the exchange of Local Traffic in accordance with Appendix C attached to this Agreement and made a part hereof. Charges for the transport and termination of non-local traffic shall be in accordance with the Parties’ respective intrastate or interstate access tariffs, as appropriate.

Charges for the transport and termination of non-non- local traffic shall be in accordance with the Parties’ respective intrastate or interstate access tariffs, as appropriate. The Parties will develop an initial factor representative of the share of traffic exempt from local compensation. This factor will be updated quarterly in like manner or as the Parties otherwise agree. Once the traffic that is exempt from local compensation can be measured, the actual exempt traffic will be used rather than the above factor.
