COMMUNICATION SUPERVISOR. The normally scheduled workday shall be no less than eight (8) hours, at the discretion of the Chief or designee; provided, the employee shall be entitled to at least two (2) consecutive days off, and the Department shall provide the employee at least fourteen (14) days advance notice of schedule changes, except during a bona fide emergency. The workday shall include, at a minimum, a paid mealtime of thirty (30) minutes, a paid fifteen (15) minute rest period before mealtime, and a paid fifteen (15) minute rest period after mealtime. Employees may work alternative work schedules with the mutual agreement of management and the Union. Annually and for the term of the Agreement, no later than December 15th of each year, work schedules shall be selected by bargaining unit seniority order.

COMMUNICATION SUPERVISOR. 34.01 The rate of pay for the position of Probationary Communications Supervisor will be the Second Level Communications Supervisor Rate. There will be a one (1) year period of Probation for this position during which period the incumbent, if a new hire, may be terminated at the sole discretion of the Chief subject to such discretion being used in good faith. If the incumbent is not a new hire to the Hanover Police Service, he or she may be removed from the position at the sole discretion of the Chief subject to such discretion being used in good faith and returned to their former position at the Police Service. 34.02 Each Communications Supervisor, upon completion of the probationary period and serving up to twelve (12) months of continuous service shall be reclassified to a pay rate of the First Level Communications Supervisor rate upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police. The recommendation of the Chief of Police shall not be unduly withheld. 34.03 The Communications Supervisor shall be entitled to all the provisions of this contract save and except Article 6.02, 24.01, 24.02, 31, 32 and 33. The hours of work for Communications Supervisor shall be eight (8) hours per day Monday through Friday, subject to the exigencies of the service and subject to the discretion of the Chief. The Communications Supervisor shall have a one hour lunch period.
