COMBINING CLASSES. When a teacher is absent for any reason, every attempt shall be made to hire a substitute. In the event a substitute cannot be hired and a teacher is required to supervise more than five (5) students who are not members of his/her class, he/she shall be compensated at the same rate of compensation as for covering a class during his/her preparation period. A. Certified staff members on their planning period will be asked to volunteer.
B. Certified staff members will be assigned on a rotating basis during their planning period.
COMBINING CLASSES. Combination classes may be established by the principal if this procedure will bring the affected class(es) within the maximum class size limits at the applicable grade levels.
COMBINING CLASSES. When circumstances exist for classes to be combined due to lack of coverage, the teacher may adjust lessons as said teacher sees fit, due to increased student teacher ratio. Said teacher will receive ten dollars ($10) per class period should a teacher receive 25% or more, rounded to the nearest whole number, of the students from the class needing covered. This does not include coverage for field trips or assemblies.
