Codebook Structure. For each variable on the Outpatient Department Events file, both weighted and unweighted frequencies are provided in the accompanying codebook. The codebook and data file sequence list variables in the following order: Unique person identifiers Unique outpatient visit identifiers Outpatient characteristic variables ICD-9-CM condition and procedure codes Clinical Classification Software (CCS) codes Imputed expenditure variables Weight and variance estimation variables Note that the person identifier is unique within this data year.
